It was an interesting 7 weeks, with two short visits to the Veritas crew as well this time.
The Veritas crew had a definite air of professionalism. It is a very well run operation, although not quite as comfortable as BGP. Like BGP though, they are somewhat set in their ways as is any crew that has operated in one place for a long time.
The biggest thing they have over BGP of course is their technical support. The crew techs are very knowledgeable and helpful. Having been in that position myself I know how much work is involved in keeping a crew running. I also know how under appreciated crew techs are. I hope that BGP will see the light soon and put techs on their crews.
Even Western can manage that!
Got involved in a couple of interesting projects during the trip – one related to vibrator response in bad ground conditions and the other being field noise. Not a great deal to be done about either, but it has led to ideas on better monitoring.
Going back soon. Hopefully can spend the trip working on the QC Tools project.
